About This Piece
Anyone who has spent a summer in the Sonoran Desert knows the feeling. Storm clouds build on the mountains by mid-afternoon, the air goes still and electric, and then the light changes. Everything turns golden. The saguaros seem to lean into it. That’s the moment Monsoon Drama captures.
A winding desert trail draws the eye through classic Sonoran vegetation: towering saguaros, palo verde in full green, and clusters of prickly pear, all caught in the extraordinary light that shows up only when a storm is minutes away. Above it all, dark monsoon clouds press down from the mountains while the sun breaks through in long, warm shafts. Desert dwellers recognize the scene immediately, and newcomers feel it instinctively. The Sonoran Desert at its most alive.
Print & Production
Monsoon Drama is printed on metal, and it rewards close attention. The contrast between the dark, churning sky and the golden-lit desert floor is exactly what metal does best: deep shadows, luminous highlights, and color that holds its intensity whether you’re across the room or up close.
Each piece is printed directly onto lightweight aluminum with a brilliant, scratch-resistant finish and arrives with a French cleat hanging system, ready to hang.
