Theresa Poalucci
Digital Fine Art Prints on Metal and Acrylic
The Artist
Theresa Poalucci creates limited-edition fine art prints on metal and acrylic, composed from her own photographs, drawings, and ink paintings. She spent 44 years in the newspaper business and 56 other publications before retiring to SaddleBrooke and building a second career in fine art. She works across acrylic flow painting, alcohol inks, and digitally composed fine art, and she has accumulated more than 80 juried awards and honorable mentions in international competitions since 2024.
Her creative roots run deep. She grew up surrounded by her mother’s paintings, earned a psychology degree from the University of Washington, and spent four decades mastering color reproduction, graphic design, and the mechanics of putting images on paper. When she turned that expertise toward fine art, she brought everything with her.
Her Process
Every piece starts with something Theresa created by hand: a photograph taken in the field, a drawing, or an alcohol ink painting. She brings those elements into the computer and builds the composition, combining, refining, and painting digitally with the eye of someone who spent decades working with color reproduction and printing presses.
She spends her time where it matters most. The animal, the face, the personality of the subject. The rest of the scene is built around that focal point, layered from her own original elements and refined through a process that draws on 44 years of graphic arts expertise. She runs the composite through artistic filters to unify the image, then enhances saturation and vibrance based on her deep understanding of how printers reproduce color.
The finished files are printed on metal or acrylic panels. Metal delivers a sleek, modern presentation with rich color depth and natural durability. Acrylic produces vivid, glossy surfaces where the image appears to float. Both formats are built for long-term display, including outdoor and high-light environments. Theresa tested the durability herself, setting a metal print in the hottest corner of her backyard for a full year to confirm it could survive an Arizona summer.
Each piece is limited to an edition of 25 professional prints, and a letter of authenticity accompanies every purchase.
