Michael Burns founded Sonoran Art in Oro Valley in November 2024 to make limited-edition prints of the Sonoran Desert and the American West. [One or two sentences on why the desert and Western history matter to you.]
How the Work Is Made
Each piece starts with an idea, such as a scene, an animal, or a moment from Western history. Some begin with a photograph, a sketch, or a painting. Others begin with AI-generated imagery. Either way, Michael directs everything that follows by hand. He composites elements, corrects anatomy and detail, and adjusts color and light so the image prints well on metal.
That last step matters more than most people expect. Metal prints behave differently from a screen, so he tunes each file for the material before it goes to a professional print lab in Tucson.

Western Frontier. Frontier scenes including The Mail Run and its Pony Express companion.
Overwatch. A day and night pair of raptors, with the red-tailed hawk in Day’s Watch and the great horned owl in Moon’s Watch.

Where fine art paper is offered, prints are made on thick, archival-grade, acid-free paper for a classic gallery look and long life. Available sizes are listed on each artwork page.
Damaged or Problem Orders
If your print arrives damaged, email assistance@sonoranart.co within 14 days of delivery with photos of the print and the packaging, and we’ll make it right. Because every piece is made to order, we can’t accept change-of-mind returns.
