Desert Fire

THE STORY

About This Piece

Where the Sonoran Desert becomes its own kind of wildfire.

In Desert Fire, mounds of scarlet chuparosa blaze across a rocky desert floor like embers scattered by the wind. Their slender green stems carry hundreds of red tubular blooms, each one catching the low golden-hour light. Saguaro rise behind them, joined by yucca, prickly pear, and the soft gray-green of mesquite, while the warm light turns every surface, stone, spine, and petal, into something luminous and alive.

This is the Sonoran Desert at its most dramatic. Not harsh or forbidding, but burning with color and life. The rounded mounds of red echo the boulders around them, creating a rhythm that feels both ancient and urgent. The rocks anchor the scene in geological time, while the flowers insist on the present moment.

It’s a fit for living rooms, entryways, or any space where you want the desert’s energy at full intensity. And it speaks to anyone who has walked a desert trail at the end of the day and understood, without being told, why people fall in love with this landscape and never quite leave.

Print & Production

Desert Fire is printed on metal, and the intensity of the reds and golds is the reason. Aluminum gives the chuparosa blooms a glow that seems to come from within, while the warm boulders and cool green yucca hold their depth and separation.

Each piece is printed directly onto lightweight aluminum with a brilliant, scratch-resistant finish and arrives with a French cleat hanging system, ready to hang.
