But while it is here, the desert looks like a different place entirely.

A black swallowtail butterfly works through the verbena blooms while saguaros, ocotillo, and prickly pear hold their familiar positions above the color. The mountains rise in the background beneath dramatic cloud formations, still carrying the moisture that triggered the bloom.
