Product Description
The mountain lion does not announce itself. It is simply there — on the rock, in the last light, watching. If you have spent time in the Sonoran Desert backcountry, you know the particular feeling of realizing something was watching you long before you noticed it. Sentinel of the Sonoran captures that presence.
A mountain lion holds its position on a weathered rock outcropping as the desert day moves toward twilight. Golden hour light catches the muscular lines of its frame and warms the rocks beneath it, while billowing clouds sweep across a wide desert sky above. In the foreground, ocotillo and creosote give way to palo verde across the desert floor, and distant peaks soften in the atmospheric haze at the horizon. The cat occupies the center of it all — alert, patient, and entirely in command of the scene.
This is the Sonoran Desert as it still exists in its wild places, where the food chain is intact, and the landscape has not been tidied up. The mountain lion is not a symbol here. It is simply an apex predator at the end of a good afternoon, doing exactly what it has always done.
Printed on metal, Sentinel of the Sonoran is at its best. The golden hour warmth, the rock texture, and the depth of the cloud formations all perform exceptionally on a luminous metal surface. Available in multiple sizes on metal, fine art paper, and canvas.
